LIFT Project – Lesson Study in Future Teacher Education

LIFT Workshop on Scaffolding Lesson Study Accepted for EAPRIL 2026 in Cork

LIFT project is proud to announce that our workshop proposal, “LIFT Flipbook for supporting Lesson Study in Initial Teacher Education,” has been officially accepted for the EAPRIL 2026 conference. The event will be held in Cork, Ireland, from November 24–26, 2026.

The interactive session will introduce the “Pathways to Lesson Study” Flipbook, a tool designed to support Lesson Study (LS) specifically within Initial Teacher Education. Developed through a collaborative approach, the flipbook serves as both a pedagogical and organizational guide to help teacher educators implement sustainable LS practices.

Participants will engage in hands-on exploration of the flipbook, utilizing its decision tree to identify LS variants that fit their specific institutional contexts. We look forward to engaging with the international community in Cork under the conference theme, “Making meaning: The craft of collaborative construction of understanding”.

The authors of the workshop are Martijn Willemse, Liena van Loenen-Sarkis, Sui Lin Goei and Shirley Tan from Windesheim University of Applied Sciences, Diarmaid Hyland from Maynooth University, Maria Vrikki and Marisa Quaresma from the University of Limassol, Margus Pedaste from the University of Tartu.
