In this work package, that is led by the University of Lisbon, the LIFT project team develops a LIFT blueprint that can serve as a reference for teacher education institutions, to be used both by project partners and further prospective users. This blueprint encompasses guidelines, resources, and tools to implement lesson study (LS) in initial teacher education (ITE). There will be four versions of the blueprint. The first version is based on the findings of the systematic literature review (SLR) of LS in ITE. This will guide the design of LEAP in WP2 and the development of evaluation tools in WP4.
Based on the findings from the LEAP on best practices, main principles, and challenges of LS in ITE a second version of the blueprint is created. LIFT project´s International Advisory Board (IAB) reviews it and once the blueprint meets the quality indicators it is piloted in WP4. The fourth and final version of LIFT blueprint is developed after the piloting phase. That final version will be translated into all the local languages of the partners in order to make it available to the public in WP5.
The LIFT blueprint is the central output of the project – to develop a European Blueprint for the Lesson Study approach to support the professional development of preservice teachers (PSTs) and teacher educators/facilitators in Initial Teacher Education (ITE).
WP3 is led by Dr João Pedro da Ponte from the University of Lisbon (Portugal), Dr Sui Lin Goei, Dr Martijn Willemse and Dr Shirley Tan from Windesheim University of Applied Sciences (the Netherlands), Dr Thomas Delahunty and Dr Diarmaid Hyland from Maynooth University (Ireland) and Dr Stéphane Clivaz from Lausanne University of Teacher Education (Switzerland).
